Description
Beautifully framed and matted vintage, original, on site poster for the bout between American middleweight fighter, Billy Papke and Georges Carpentier, from France on October 23, 1912. The fight lasted seventeen rounds with Papke winning after Carpentier gave up. This beautiful poster has images of both fighters and is written in French. Papke is representing the United States by wearing red, white and blue w/stars, resembling the American flag. It is matted and has a beautiful gold frame and is in very good condition. Overall size with frame is 44 1/2″ x 36″ and approximately 32″ x 23″ without frame. There is some glare so email me if anymore info or images are needed.
